I’ve been to Sydney a few times lately and once again this meant trying some great new places to eat with my brother. The first one we went to is called Mr Crackles, which on Oxford Street in Sydney and is all about the Pork. Ok so they do lamb too, which I’m sure tastes amazing but who can go past pork and that lovely lovely crackling!
When I walked into the shop the first thing my eyes were drawn to was the large glass cabinet filled with massive sheets of crackling. Then immediately below that the cups of crackling like you would buy a cup of chips! Best. Thing. Ever.
The hardest thing to do when going into a new shop is deciding what to eat first. But as always my brother had an answer to this food related question that I think is the best way to approach a new food shop you come upon. His first time there he asked them what was the one thing everyone comes here for, their most popular seller.
The answer was the Crackles Classic Roll, crisp skinned slow roast 5 spiced pork belly served with Vietnamese salad in a roll, so this is what I ordered. It was amazing!

They have some amazing food and I want to try it all!! You can even buy the following couple of items which I so want to do one day with a couple of friends.
Butterflied Boneless Suckling Pig – Boned 5 spiced crispy skinned OR garlic, lemon, fennel & thyme (and it’s Gluten Free, which I think means it’s healthy for you).
Stuffed Porchetta – Fully boned suckling pig stuffed with a mix of pork mince, bacon, fennel and mixed herbs.
I give this shop 4 delicious piglets out of 5 – You need to try this!!
